Say you own a home inside the gates at The Hideaway, and you’re ready to sell. You want an agent who knows private club resale. But each agent’s record lives in a different place. Sales data sits on one site, awards on another, and client comments on a third.

We gathered what public profiles show for three agents with closed sales inside The Hideaway. They are Craig Chorpenning, Valery Neuman and Janine Stevens. For each one, you’ll find production numbers, a past Hideaway sale, what clients say and one credential worth knowing.

Which real estate agent should I hire to sell my Hideaway home in La Quinta?

Which real estate agent should I hire to sell my Hideaway home in La Quinta? There’s no single answer, and we don’t crown one here. A furnished villa and a new custom estate need different plans, buyers and price strategies. Your timeline and how hands-on you want to be matter too.

What these three agents share is direct experience. Each has closed at least one sale inside The Hideaway, which we confirmed through public listing pages.

Three Ways to Size Up an Agent’s Record

Look for Recent Wins on Your Side of the Deal

A seller should care most about listing-side results. Some sites split an agent’s deals into buyer and seller sides. Check how many homes the agent sold for owners in the past year, not just total deals.

Read for Details Rather Than Stars

A comment that names a problem tells you more than a perfect score. Did the agent send updates while the owner lived out of state? Did the home sell after other agents failed? Those details show how an agent works under pressure.

Match Honors and Past Sales to Your Price Range

An award means more when you know how it’s earned. A past sale near your home’s size and price says even more. Ask each agent for the club sales they handled in the last few years.

Craig Chorpenning of Desert Sotheby’s International Realty

Craig’s Homes.com agent profile shows 73 closed sales worth about $127 million over the prior five years. Thirty-one of those deals were on the seller side, totaling close to $61 million. In the past year alone, he closed 11 listings worth nearly $20 million. La Quinta is his busiest market, with 29 sales over that period.

In Palm Springs Life’s 2026 Top Realtors list, Craig appears among the Top Individual Agents. That group covers agents who sold between $8 million and $66 million in 2025. The magazine’s editors confirmed production with brokers, using MLS data and public records.

His Hideaway record includes a newly built custom home on Via Pessaro. The five-bedroom house overlooked the Pete Dye course and closed at $4,600,000 in March 2024.

One review on Craig’s testimonials page shows how far his help reaches. When Candace L. left California for Utah, Craig found her an agent there. She wrote, “Craig was a great resource to us and helped us find great representation when we left California and moved to Utah.” She also noted, “Utilizing his network he was able to get an agent that was on the same wavelength, and we were able to secure a great home simultaneously.” For a seller with a next home in another state, that kind of referral can save time.

Craig has spent about 10 years with Sotheby’s International Realty, after starting out in coastal Orange County.

Valery Neuman of Compass

Valery is the volume leader in this group by a wide margin. Her RealTrends Verified profile shows $203.76 million across 43 sides in 2025, with an average price of $4.74 million. She ranked first in La Quinta by both volume and sides. Palm Springs Life listed her as the only individual agent whose 2025 sales topped $200 million.

Her most recent Hideaway sale on Compass is 53752 Via Strada, a new home finished in 2026. It closed for $9,800,000 on October 22, 2026. Another firm held the listing, which points to Valery working the buyer side.

Estate sellers can find a useful pricing signal on Compass, too. The page for a March 2026 Hideaway estate sale listed nine La Quinta comps. Their median sold price was $12,250,000. Those homes averaged 95 days on market and sold for 90.8% of list price.

We couldn’t open client reviews for Valery on the sites we checked. A Palm Springs Life profile says she’s known as the “Real Estate Matchmaker.” In that piece, she said, “I simply love what I do!”

Her Compass page says she was a founding partner of Compass in Greater Palm Springs in 2018.

Janine Stevens of Bennion Deville Homes

On RateMyAgent, Janine holds a 5 star rating from four reviews. The same profile says she has been selling real estate since 1989. Her website lists sold homes on several Hideaway streets.

One of those was 53315 Via Mallorca, a three-bedroom Hideaway home with 5,765 square feet. Janine was the listing agent, and it closed for $2,700,000 on February 19, 2021.

Her client testimonials lean heavily toward sellers. Lisa C. of Vancouver listed over the summer and expected a slow sale. She wrote, “with Janine’s extensive network we had many showings over a two month period and ultimately sold our home in under 4 months.” Helen P. sold her La Quinta home while away. She wrote, “I appreciated the weekly updates that she sent to me.”

Janine’s website notes her membership in Luxury Portfolio, a global network for luxury listings.

Timing a Hideaway Listing

Most of the Hideaway sales on this page closed in late winter. The Via Mallorca home closed in February, and the Via Pessaro home closed in March. So did the estate behind the Compass pricing data above. That window falls in the desert’s peak winter season. Valery’s October closing shows deals happen in fall too, and a few sales is a small sample. Ask each agent when their own club listings went under contract. Then plan your list date around it.

Your Checklist Before You Sign a Listing Agreement

We don’t name a winner. These are three agents with real Hideaway experience and public track records. Each agent’s history is split across many websites, and no single profile tells the whole story. The best check is a direct conversation.
